Terms and Conditions

In the first instance please phone or email us with your dates and we will let you know if they are available.

To secure your booking we request a deposit at time of booking of £100/room or per/person if a twin room. The balance is due 4 weeks prior to your arrival date.

Payment can be made preferably by bank transfer or by debit/credit card (over the telephone).

The deposit and balance are non-refundable unless we manage to re-sell your room.

Should we have to cancel - you will be refunded in full.

Arrival and Departure Times

We are happy for you to arrive any time after 2pm - if you’d like to arrive earlier just give us a call to make sure we will be around. On departure day we ask you to vacate your room by 10.00am - but you don’t need to leave West Manse till late morning.

What to bring with you

Many quilters prefer to bring their own sewing machines but we also have several machines here you can use. We do ask you to bring your own rotary cutter, scissors, pins and machine needles - and please be sure to bring your machine manual if bringing your own machine! Apart from a couple of rolls of wadding and cushions pads - we do not sell fabrics, threads or other materials so try and bring these with you. If you run short you are welcome to delve into Chris’s stash of fabrics and threads, or there are a couple of quilting shops not too far away. Other than sewing supplies - don’t forget your slippers if you are comfier wearing them, sensible shoes if you want to walk and a bottle if you want a nightcap!

Telephones & WiFi

Mobile reception here is not impossible - but not brilliant either!

You are however welcome to use our land line free of charge.

If you need to leave an emergency contact number whilst you are away from home - please use our land line number Tel 01542 842778.

Free WiFi is available throughout house - if your mobile/provider supports it, we suggest you switch to WiFi Calling during your stay with us.

Television

We do not have TV’s in any of the bedrooms. If you are a sports lover - be warned, we do not have Sky either! There are however a couple of Smart TVs downstairs so you can keep up to date with Sewing Bee or Strictly!

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted inside the house under any circumstances. However, there are several sheltered places around where you can sit and partake without feeling like an outcast!

Dogs

Really sorry but we are unable to accommodate visiting dogs - or other animals - in the house.

How much does it cost?

2024 prices

Single occupancy of room £135/night Smaller rooms

£140/night Larger rooms

Non-Quilting Spouse/partner £45/night

(Assuming sharing a room with a quilter!)

2 Quilters sharing a twin room £115/quilter/night

All rooms have either en-suite facilities or a private bath/shower room.

Prices are fully inclusive of your room, breakfast, lunch and dinner,

unlimited use of the workroom, all help or tuition, unlimited teas/coffees, cakes etc.

There are no hidden charges or surprise extras!
